In continuation of the efforts of Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor, The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU), Sukkur, to promote preventive healthcare and student well-being, BNBWU organized a Thalassemia Awareness & Free Carrier Screening Programme in collaboration with the SINDH Blood Transfusion Authority, Health Department, Sindh Government, on 16 September 2026.
Dr. Dur-e-Naz Jamal, Secretary, Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority, and Ms. Samar delivered the awareness session, highlighting the importance of thalassemia prevention, carrier screening, early detection and informed health choices. Free carrier screening was also provided to participants, reinforcing BNBWUβs commitment to health awareness, prevention and the well-being of young women.
