Under the visionary leadership of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur (BNBWU) marked a landmark achievement with the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Administration Sukkur.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor BNBWU, and Mr. Nadir Shahzad, Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, in a dignified ceremony held at the Senate Hall, BNBWU on 16th April 2026.
This agreement stands as the first-ever and first-of-its-kind collaboration between BNBWU and the District Administration Sukkur, setting a new precedent for institutional partnerships aimed at socio-economic development, governance support, and community upliftment.
The MoU envisions joint initiatives in areas of:
โข Women empowerment and capacity building
โข Community engagement and outreach programs
โข Student development, internships, and practical exposure
โข Policy support and evidence-based decision-making
โข Strengthening linkages between academia and public sector governance
Speaking on the occasion, the Worthy Vice Chancellor emphasized that this strategic partnership reflects BNBWUโs commitment to bridging academia with real-world governance structures, enabling students especially women, to gain meaningful exposure, leadership skills, and opportunities for impactful contributions to society.
The Deputy Commissioner Sukkur, Mr. Nadir Shahzad, appreciated the universityโs proactive role and highlighted the importance of academic collaboration in addressing local challenges through research, innovation, and youth engagement.
